YOGA COURSES

GROW DEEPER IN YOUR JOURNEY

INTRO TO YOGA

Develop a foundation in practice

This course will go over yoga sequences that are key to the yoga practice. We will review each pose, their health benefits, adjusting them to fit your body, and how to establish a home practice.

THE YOGA SYSTEM

The Traditional Method of Study

This course is for those who may be seasoned yoga teachers/practitioners, interested, or just starting out but want a deep relationship to yoga as a system. We will go through asana sequences based on the Ashtanga/Raja-Yoga model. We will delve into each of the 8 limbs of yoga. In turn the course will be part physical practice, part philosophy, part breath and yogic anatomy, and part meditation.

INVERSIONS

Upside Downing

Inversions are a key part of  the yoga practice for a reason. They offer deep psycho-emotional-physical-Spiritual health benefits. Upside downing could be intimidating, but don't have to be. We will explore headstands, forearm stands, handstands, shoulder stands, and folds.

YOGA PHILOSOPHY

Exploring the Question of Self

While yoga is partially a physical practice, at its root is Spirituality, and the quest to understand the Self. Whatever your spiritual/religious practice is, yoga can deepen your relationship to your beliefs. We will explore excerpts from Patanjali's Yoga Sutra's, Hatha Yoga Pradipika, and the Bahgavad Gita, not as dogma's but as living breathing material.
